From One Canvas to Another

My path to nail art was anything but linear.

After graduating in Literary Studies with a concentration in Creative Writing, I felt the need to create something more tangible. I explored fashion design in Singapore before spending several months in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — a place I quickly fell in love with for its diversity, energy, and beautiful chaos.

It was there that I became a certified nail technician. What started as a practical skill quickly became an obsession. Nail art brought together everything I loved: creativity, design, storytelling, and self-expression.

Petite Canvas grew from that discovery

On My Own Terms

I eventually returned home to begin my career. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to experience the corporate world, and I don’t regret trying it. But after a first attempt in the legal field and a second in technology, I realized that something was missing: my creativity.

The second experience gave me more freedom and, most importantly, more time to let Petite Canvas take its first steps.

Building a small business as a nail artist means constantly learning — from design and technique to photography, branding, marketing, and everything in between. Along the way, I’ve learned that the person who has supported my growth the most has been myself.

Petite Canvas became more than a creative outlet. It became a way of building a career on my own terms.

Among Kindred Spirits

In 2026, I left my second corporate job and began working full-time on Petite Canvas.

I quickly found my way into a small, close-knit community filled with people who genuinely support one another — people who share a sensitivity and appreciation for self-expression that feels familiar to me.

Since discovering nail art, I’ve continued to learn, experiment, and grow every day. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with Hey/Miss Behave and create sharp, detailed nail art for the fetish community. I’ve also participated in multiple events at Maleficarium at Château St-Ambroise, and I’ll be joining Goth Shop for their 5-year celebration on October 24th.

With upcoming collaborations, a surprise market, and new opportunities ahead, I’m excited to keep evolving, creating, and discovering where Petite Canvas can take me next.
